Evolutionary Computation that generates aesthetically beautiful patterns.
Using nature-inspired techniques, aesthetic measures – symmetry and complexity – are observed in newly created patterns and analysed to be further grown into more aesthetically pleasing two dimensional images. During the formation process, the best found segments of symmetries are identified and expanded using Cellular Automata (CA).The work explores how the findings of human perception of beauty can be used to develop a recursive system that can evolve patterns based on the characteristics of symmetry and complexity.
